4 Best Nepali Novels that I Read in One Month

I am here again with 4 wonderful Nepali novels which touched my heart. If you love Nepali literature, then don’t forget to read these books. There are beautiful stories in each book. Here, I will try to summarize these books in a paragraph.

1. Seto Dharti

This book is one of the Madan Puraskar awarded books of Nepal. The author of this novel is Amar Neupane. This novel reflects the reality of a widow in Nepalese society. The main character of this novel, Tara, who becomes a widow at the age of nine years old and encounters many difficulties and limitations imposed to her by the society just because of her widowhood. Her life becomes colourless due to death of her husband to whom she hardly knows.

2. Phirphire

This book was written by Buddhisagar. This book contains the story of friendship, love and sympathy. The main characters of this novel, Basanta and Pawan, who are best friends, remind us about our own childhood memories. We can understand the lifestyle of Nepalese people who are living in the village areas of Nepal.

3. Gulabi Umer

This book is also written by Amar Neupane. This novel is about the changes that come to teenagers. It portrays the mentality of a teenage girl and how she reacts with the physical changes in her body.

4. Karodau Kasturi

This novel is one of the best novels of Amar Neupane. This novel talks about a child who has many talents to fit in film industry, but no one recognizes and supports him. He becomes pressurized under the standard education system and becomes crazy. This novel tries to show us that if we don’t recognize our hidden talents on time, then we can’t be happy in life. We must help the children to find their talents and support them.
