1. Kanchha Maharani (कान्छा महारानी)

‘Kanchha Maharani’ is the Nepali translation of the book ‘The Other Queen’. It is written by Shiwa Shaha and translated into Nepali by Shaguna Shaha. In this novel, the writer has portrayed the dark history of Nepal. Especially, it shows that how Rana Regime of 104 years was born.

Although there are many characters Jung Bahadur Rana and Queen Rajendra Laksmi Shaha are the main characters. The most interesting about this book is how Jung Bahadur, an outer person, uses the royal members, destroys their relationship and faith of each other, and finally overtakes the whole Kingdom of Nepal. As a whole, this book is about politics, relationships, greed, conspiracy, etc. of the history of Nepal.

2. Ghanachakkar (घनचक्कर)

It is a popular Nepali book which is written by Sanjeev Upreti. I think it is a complicated book to understand and also interesting due to many reasons. It is one of my favorite books that I have read. This book is about the madness of a person. Actually, it is an innuendos book for the situation of the government of Nepal. The writer has written about how a person or a citizen goes into madness because of the political state of a nation in a very interesting and wonderful way. If you are searching for interesting books to read, then you can surely read this book.

3. Chhapamar Yuwatiko Diary (छापामार युवतीको डायरी)

‘Chhapamar Yuwatiko Diary’ is a wonderful book or a diary which is written by Tara Rai. It is the real story of the writer. In this book, the writer has written about the struggle, voice, and contribution of Nepali youths to remove the Shaha Regime or King system from Nepal. Actually, she is also the one who had struggled against the King system. She has described the pain, the time, the situation, the enemy, the fight, the unity, etc of that time. The youths of Nepal had given even their life to remove the traditional King system at that time.

4. Hangsha (हंस)

Hangsha is another wonderful book by the writer Sanjeev Upreti. He has written about the ‘Hanghsa’ which means the spirit of people and also the story of ducks. He has linked both stories of people and ducks. It is quite about the love story and mythical stories of the development of ducks and people.

So, these are the books that I have read in one month. All of the four books are really interesting to read and also informational. And also they are strong and best books of Nepali literature. So, if you want to read some literary books, then don’t forget to read these books.
