The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari

The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari is a book written by Indian author Robin Sharma. It is an inspirational and very useful book that guides us on how to change our life from ordinary to extraordinary. Mainly, this book shares secret ideas to become a happy, vibrant, youthful, and spiritual person through the story of a monk who was once a millionaire lawyer. His name is Julian Mantle.

Today’s world is very busy and full of problems. People run after their dreams and goals as if they will miss the train of happiness forever. Many give up their happiness for the sake of fame or wealth. Julian was a modern man — a successful lawyer who worked hard and earned millions, including owning a red Ferrari. But he wasn’t happy at all. So, he sold all his wealth, even his Ferrari, and started looking inside himself. This book is about Julian’s journey to the Himalayan mountains.

When Julian went to India, he learned about the great sages of Sivana and began searching for them. After much effort, he finally met these sages. He saw the magical and peaceful beauty of their village and mountains. He met ageless, happy people unlike anyone he had seen before. He learned every technique from the great sages. After a few months, he became youthful and full of life. Then, he returned to share their teachings and ideas with the world.

This is one of the best books I have ever read. I think everyone in today’s world should read it to live a happy and healthy life. I learned many important lessons from this book.

While reading, I learned to listen to my own heartbeat, to stare at the heart of a rose for positive thinking, and to become the master of my time to reach my dreams. Especially, I am following the “Ten Rituals of Radiant Living” that Julian learned from the sages of Sivana. Because of these rituals, I feel more alive and energetic. Now, I want to share these tips with you — they can help you become happy and youthful and achieve everything you want in life.

THE TEN RITUALS OF RADIANT LIVING;-

  1. The ritual of early awakening:– We can sleep a maximum of six hours a day and awake with sunrise. We can feel extra peace by seeing the sunrise.
  2. The ritual of solitude:– We should stay silent in a secret place after getting up for at least fifteen minutes at the same time daily. It will also help to calm down our thinking mind.
  3. The ritual of physicality:– We should do Yoga to connect our body, soul, and mind. We should also practice breathing consciously.
  4. The ritual of music:- We can listen to our favorite music to feel good and fresh.
  5. The ritual of live nourishment:– If we can, it is better to be vegetarian. Mainly, we should eat alive food.
  6. The ritual of the spoken word:- We should repeat a mantra or that type of word which encourages us to do good things. For example, if you say that you are healthy, dynamic, and fully alive then you can do everything you want.
  7. The ritual of abundant knowledge:- We should read many best books which inspire us to do good things.
  8. The ritual of congruent character:- We should write down what we want to be in the future and we should follow them continuously.
  9. The ritual of simplicity:- We should live a simple lifestyle to be happy and satisfied. It also helps to stop doing unnecessary things.
  10. The ritual of personal reflection:– We must think about what we did today. If there is any mistake or negative thought, we should try to replace it with a positive thought.

I think it will help you to be happy and healthy. There are many good quotes in this book. My favorite quotes are as follows:-

We are all here for some reason. Stop being a prisoner of your past, become the architect of your future.

Happiness is a journey not a destination.

The best time to plant a tree was forty years ago. The second best time is today. Don’t waste even one minute of your day.

RUN YOUR OWN RACE. It doesn’t matter what other people say about you.
